Visitor Screening

One World Trade Center security team follows a protocol of screening any and all visitor bags and packages prior to entry.

Visitors who enter the building will be required to have any bags and packages undergo screening. Failure to comply with our screening process will result in denial of entry.

We ask that you communicate this protocol to your visitors in advance of their arrival to avoid delays in entering the building.

The items listed below are prohibited and will not be permitted in the building:

  • Weapons and dangerous items such as, but not limited to:
    • Firearms (for example, guns, rifles, BB guns, pellet guns)
    • Ammunition and explosive devices, including fireworks
    • Stun guns, tasers
    • Knives, razors, box cutters
    • Mace, pepper spray
    • Martial arts equipment (for example, nun chucks, throwing star)
  • Flammable liquids and gases
  • Any other item that The Durst Organization security team determines may pose a threat to the safety and security to the building.

Please Note:

  • Employees of tenants who have building-issued access badges are not subject to the bag and package screening requirement.
  • Prohibited items cannot be stored at the security desk or anywhere on site.
  • Persons carrying illegal items may be subject to arrest by the Port Authority Police department.
  • Large items that do not fit in the x-ray machine will be redirected to contractor screening located in the C1 level for screening, solely at the discretion of the One World Trade Center security team.

Prohibited items that have a legitimate purpose for being carried may be pre-cleared with reasonable advance notice solely at the discretion of The Durst Organization. Please contact the Property Management Office.
