Waste Program

Recycling

New York City recycling laws require commercial tenants to keep designated recyclables separate from trash. All tenants are expected to comply with The Durst Organization's Tenant Recycling Program. Flyers for the standard 4-can program are available for download below.

Organics Collection

The Durst Organization is the first commercial landlord in New York City to offer organics collection services to tenants. Our Organics Waste Lifecycle flyer illustrates the multiple phases of the program from the time the waste is collected from our tenants to when it returns as nutrient-rich soil to our buildings' green roofs.

This is a free, convenient program that further reduces the amount of waste taken to landfills. Please contact the Building Services Department (Building-services@durst.org) for further details regarding recycling and organics collection.

Electronic Waste

Electronic waste recycling is required by law. A tenant's failure to recycle its electronic waste may result in significant fines. Please ensure all electronic waste is properly recycled in accordance with the procedures below.

Here's How to Participate:

  1. Assess Your E-Waste: Identify all unwanted electronics in your space.

  2. Schedule Your Pick-Up: Submit a work ticket through Prism.

  3. E-Waste Bin Drop-Off: For full-floor tenants, an e-waste bin will be placed by the freight elevator on your floor. For shared floors, a bin will be set up in a designated spot within your space. Please note that there is a fee associated with the e-waste bin.

  4. Responsible Recycling: You will receive documentation verifying the responsible recycling of your collected e-waste.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please contact the Property Management Office.
